Mahalakshmi Yojana

Mahalakshmi Yojana

Mahalakshmi Yojana Mahalaxmi Yojana has been launched in Uttarakhand. The Chief Minister Maha Lakshmi Scheme, initially introduced as the “Soubhagyawati Yojana” by former Chief Minister Trivendra Rawat, has undergone several changes since its inception a few months ago. Despite its promising start, the scheme faced obstacles when Rawat resigned from his post, delaying its launch. Subsequently, his successor, Tirath Singh Rawat, rebranded it as the “Mahalakshmi Yojana” and was prepared to unveil it. However, fate had other plans as Rawat’s tenure was short-lived, and due to unforeseen circumstances, he never got the opportunity to launch the scheme.

Recently, under the leadership of CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Mukhyamantri Mahalaxmi Yojana was finally initiated in Uttarakhand. The scheme was officially launched at the CM Camp office, where CM Dhami and Minister of Women Empowerment and Child Development, Rekha Arya, distributed Mahalaxmi kits to eligible women beneficiaries. Additionally, virtual ceremonies were organized across various districts, where district magistrates facilitated the distribution of Mahalaxmi kits to the beneficiaries.

In the inaugural phase of the Mukhyamantri Mahalaxmi Yojana, a commendable number of 16,929 beneficiaries have already availed benefits across all districts of the state. It is estimated that over 50 thousand individuals will benefit from this scheme within a year. CM Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed optimism regarding the positive impact of the scheme, particularly in improving gender ratios across the state.

Despite the challenges and twists in its journey, the Mukhyamantri Mahalakshmi Scheme has finally been successful, symbolizing the government’s commitment to empowering women and promoting gender equality in Uttarakhand. As the scheme progresses, it is expected to bring significant improvements in the lives of the beneficiaries, thereby contributing to the overall development of the state.
